Privacy policy

In effect since August 20, 2026.

This policy explains what we do with your data. It is written to be understood, not to protect us from you.

1. Who is responsible

Upar.io is the controller of your data, under the terms of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Law 13.709/2018). Contact for privacy matters: contato@upar.io.

2. What we collect

Data you give us

• first and last name;
• email;
• phone;
• country;
• password, stored encrypted, which not even we can read.

Usage data

• the addresses of the videos you process and their titles;
• how many clips you generated, in what format and for how long;
• the date and time of each processing job.

Browsing data

• pages visited and where you arrived from;
• screen size and device type;
• approximate region, derived from your network address.

We do not store your full network address, only the state or city that it indicates. We do not use any advertising tool that follows you across other sites.

3. Why we collect it

• So the service works: without email and password there is no account, without an account there are no clips.
• To charge you: payment data goes straight to Stripe.
• To understand the product: knowing which features are used helps us improve.
• To talk to you: notices about your account and about the service.

4. Your videos

The generated files stay on the server for a limited time and are then deleted. We do not publish, do not sell and do not use your material to train anything. Nobody on the team watches your videos, unless you ask for help with a specific problem and authorize it in writing.

5. Who we share with

Only with whoever is necessary for the service to exist:

• Stripe, to process payment;
• Amazon Web Services, where the site is hosted;
• authorities, when there is a court order.

We never sell data. We never trade data for advertising.

6. How long we keep it

• account data: while the account exists, and for 6 more months after it is closed;
• payment records: 5 years, as a tax obligation;
• browsing data: 12 months;
• generated video files: a few days.

7. Your rights

The law guarantees that, at any time, you can:

• know what data we have about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• ask for a copy of your data;
• ask for everything to be deleted;
• withdraw a consent you have given.

8. Security

The whole site runs over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored with an algorithm made for that, which only works one way. Access to the database is restricted to whoever operates the product.

No system is invulnerable. If there is an incident that puts your data at risk, we notify you and the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority, as the law requires.

9. Cookies and audience measurement

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember the language you chose.

We also use Google Analytics to understand how many people reach the site and by which path. It writes a measurement cookie that does not identify you by name, and it is set up with the IP anonymized and with the advertising features turned off. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, and we do not sell or share this data with anyone beyond Google itself, as the operator of the tool.

If you prefer not to be counted, your browser's tracker blocking, or Google Analytics' official opt-out add-on, takes care of it, and nothing on the site stops working because of that.

10. Children

The service is not meant for anyone under 18. If we find an account in that situation, it is closed and the data deleted.

11. Changes

If this policy changes in any relevant way, we announce it by email before it takes effect.
